I choose color by ‘subtraction’.
In my experience, our eye reacts promptly to colors and combinations that
are not “right”. Relying upon your immediate intuition as our best guide, we
will quickly be able to edit-out the unsuitable, fine-tune and reveal your
preferred palette.
As when facing a blank canvas or an empty stage, I consider interior walls
as backgrounds and exterior siding as backdrops in support of furnishings and
accessories, architectural features, or landscaping.
I lean toward enhancing visual interest by selecting contrasting colors
for existing architectural features.
Near the conclusion of your project, after seeing the actual interplay of
colors painted on location, we may reassess and revise the final trim-color
choices.
Choosing the ideal color for your exterior door will be a distinctive
highlight.
